Thu Jan 30 21:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Chennai Women Terrorized in Nighttime Car Chase, DMK Flag Sparks Political Fury

**Chennai, India –** A disturbing video showing a group of women being chased and harassed by men in Chennai has gone viral, sparking public outrage and a political firestorm. The incident, which occurred on the East Coast Road (ECR) in Kanathur on January 25th, involved six men in two vehicles – one of which displayed a flag resembling that of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party.

The women, returning home to Muttukadu, were reportedly blocked by a luxury car. The men inside verbally abused and threatened the women, forcing them to reverse their car and flee for nearly four kilometers. The chase continued to their home, where the harassment persisted.

The terrifying ordeal was captured on video and shared widely on social media. Police have registered a case against the suspects, charging them with mischief, criminal intimidation, and wrongful restraint. An investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

The incident has ignited a political debate, with BJP leader SG Suryah criticizing the state government’s law and order situation on X (formerly Twitter), linking the incident to the DMK flag displayed on one of the pursuing vehicles. He questioned the effectiveness of the ruling party’s governance in ensuring women’s safety. The case highlights ongoing concerns about women’s safety in the region and has placed the ruling DMK under intense scrutiny.
