**WAYANAD, Kerala, January 31, 2025** – A bomb threat targeting a veterinary college in Wayanad, Kerala, and the US Consulate in Chennai was deemed a hoax following a thorough search by police and bomb squads. The threat, delivered via email to the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) vice chancellor and registrar, claimed responsibility from a purported Naxal leader, T. Maran, citing the execution of Afzal Guru as motivation. The email, sent from an account under the name Niveditha Prithviraj, was determined to be a group message intended to cause public panic. Police are currently investigating the source of the email. No explosive devices were found at the veterinary college.
