**Visakhapatnam, January 31, 2025** – Union Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and Minister of State for Steel & Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma visited the RINL-Visakhapatnam steel plant on Thursday, offering words of encouragement to employees and celebrating recent progress. The ministers were greeted with a rousing reception at the airport.
During internal meetings, Mr. Kumaraswamy expressed confidence in RINL’s ability to regain profitability, emphasizing its crucial role in achieving India’s 300 million tonne steel production target. The ministers, accompanied by several MPs and the Steel secretary, inaugurated RINL’s Resurgence Park.
Addressing RINL staff, Mr. Kumaraswamy praised their hard work and commitment, highlighting the progress made over the last three months. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the ₹11,440 crore revival package and attributed his optimism to both the employees’ dedication and a morning prayer at Tirumala. He declared his ambition to make RINL the leading steel plant in the country.
