**KOCHI, January 31, 2025** – Activist Rahul Easwar has been booked by the Ernakulam Central police on charges of insulting the modesty of a woman, following a complaint filed by an actor. The case, registered under Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (for acts intended to insult a woman’s modesty) and Section 67 of the IT Act, stems from allegations of cyber-harassment. The actor claims the harassment was in retaliation for Easwar’s actions against businessman Boby Chemmanur. This follows a Kerala High Court ruling granting Easwar anticipatory bail with the condition that he receive two weeks’ notice before any coercive action in the event of a non-bailable offense being registered based on the actor’s complaint.
