**Bangalore, India –** Ola Electric is poised to launch its highly anticipated Gen 3 range of electric scooters tomorrow. The new platform, first teased last year, promises significant advancements over its predecessors. While specifics remain under wraps, Ola claims the Gen 3 scooters will be more efficient, lighter, and technologically advanced.
Key improvements include a redesigned battery structure integrating the motor, battery, and electronics into a single unit. This streamlined design, potentially featuring an aluminum frame, aims to improve performance and reduce weight. A dramatic reduction in processing power – from ten processors in the Gen 1 to a single processor in the Gen 3 – is also touted, simplifying wiring and reducing complexity.
The Gen 3 scooters will retain some features from current models but will boast a new and improved TFT screen and updated software. While advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) were hinted at, their implementation will not be immediate.
Pricing for the new range starts at ₹79,999 (ex-showroom) for the entry-level S1 X 2kWh model, rising to ₹1.59 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-of-the-line S1 Pro. The 4kWh and 3kWh variants will be priced at ₹1.5 lakh and ₹1.29 lakh respectively. The launch promises a significant step forward in Ola’s electric scooter technology.
