Fri Jan 31 03:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Wembanyama Earns First All-Star Nod in Revamped NBA Tournament

**San Francisco, CA** – San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama will make his NBA All-Star debut, highlighting the announcement of the 2025 All-Star reserves. The second-year sensation, already a Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year candidate, and All-Defensive First Team member, cements his status as a rising star.

Joining Wembanyama in the Western Conference reserves are Alperen Şengün (Rockets), Anthony Davis (Lakers), Jaren Jackson Jr. (Grizzlies), and Jalen Williams (Thunder). The Eastern Conference reserves include Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves), James Harden (Clippers), Evan Mobley (Cavaliers), Pascal Siakam (Pacers), Jaylen Brown (Celtics), Darius Garland (Cavaliers), Cade Cunningham (Pistons), Damian Lillard (Bucks), and Tyler Herro (Heat).

These reserves will join the previously announced starters: LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokić, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Stephen Curry (West); and Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, Karl-Anthony Towns, Donovan Mitchell, and Jalen Brunson (East).

This year’s All-Star game will feature a significant format change. Instead of the traditional single game, a three-game mini-tournament will unfold. The 24 All-Stars will be divided into three teams, with team selection handled by TNT’s Inside the NBA analysts Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley. The fourth team will consist of the winners of the Rising Stars Challenge, a three-game tournament now in its third year, managed by WNBA legend Candace Parker. The All-Star festivities will take place in San Francisco’s Chase Center on February 16th.
