**Kannur, Kerala –** A 65-year-old man, K.K. Sadanandan, has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined ₹1.25 lakh for a 2018 rape case, a fast-track court in Mattanur announced today. Judge Anit Joseph delivered the verdict, convicting Sadanandan under Sections 450, 354(B), and 376 of the Indian Penal Code. The court mandated that ₹1 lakh of the fine be given to the victim as compensation. Sadanandan, who is already serving time for other offenses including a POCSO case, hails from Iriveri.
