REDMOND, WA – February 11, 2025 – Microsoft today announced significant updates to its Surface for Business lineup, introducing new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro models designed to leverage the power of artificial intelligence. These “Copilot+ PCs,” powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2), are optimized for performance and enhanced by Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for improved local AI processing.
The new Surface Laptop for Business boasts a redesigned chassis, featuring up to 26% faster multitasking performance, up to 2x faster graphics, and up to 3x longer battery life during Teams calls compared to its predecessor. A notable addition is optional 5G cellular connectivity, launching later in 2025, enabling mobile productivity. The laptop also includes Wi-Fi 7 and features improved sustainability with increased recycled materials, including 100% recycled cobalt in the battery cell. The 13.8-inch and 15-inch models will be available starting February 18th, 2025, starting at $1,499.99 MSRP.
The updated Surface Pro also incorporates Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2) and an NPU, delivering up to 28% faster performance and up to 98% better graphics performance than the Surface Pro 9. It retains its versatile design and includes enhanced security features, such as facial recognition and NFC reader compatibility. Sustainability is also a focus, with the enclosure containing at least 89% recycled content. The Surface Pro will also launch on February 18th, 2025.
Complementing the new devices are the new Surface USB4 Dock, offering fast charging and data transfer, and enhanced Microsoft Teams Rooms experiences on Surface Hub 3, including Miracast support and the upcoming integration of Microsoft Edge. Microsoft also announced a public preview of Security Copilot in the Surface Management Portal, leveraging generative AI to simplify IT device management, starting February 24th, 2025.
