Fri Jan 31 07:33:26 IST 2025: ## Economic Survey to Precede Union Budget 2025-26
**New Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS)** – India’s Economic Survey, a crucial pre-budget document analyzing the past fiscal year and projecting the upcoming one, will be presented to Parliament on Friday at noon by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. This precedes the Union Budget 2025-26, scheduled for presentation on February 1st.
The Survey, prepared under Chief Economic Advisor V. Anantha Nageswaran, will be tabled in the Lok Sabha at 12 pm and the Rajya Sabha at 2 pm. It offers insights into the current economic state and provides a forecast for the next fiscal year, often influencing the tone and direction of the Union Budget. This year’s theme, yet to be revealed, will significantly shape the policy proposals within the upcoming Budget.
Friday’s events will begin with President Droupadi Murmu addressing a joint sitting of Parliament at 11 am. Following the Presidential address, the Finance Minister will present the Economic Survey. A Cabinet meeting, where the Budget will be finalized and approved, will also be held before the Budget’s presentation. This will mark Finance Minister Sitharaman’s eighth consecutive presentation of the Union Budget.
The Budget Session of Parliament, which runs from January 31st to April 4th, will have a break from February 14th to March 9th.
