Fri Jan 31 07:07:17 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Wakes to Clear Skies, but Air Quality Remains Very Poor

**New Delhi, January 31, 2025** – Delhi residents enjoyed a relatively cool start to Friday, with a minimum temperature of 9.5°C, slightly above average. However, despite clear skies, the air quality remained alarmingly poor.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 a.m. was 349, placing it in the “very poor” category. This follows a year in which Delhi experienced poor or worse air quality for 155 days in 2024. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a maximum temperature of 26°C for the day. High humidity levels (95% at 8:30 a.m.) further contributed to the poor air quality.

The AQI scale ranges from 0-50 (good) to 500 (severe). Authorities are urging residents to take necessary precautions to protect their health.
