Fri Jan 31 00:20:00 UTC 2025: ## WNBA Star Caitlin Clark Skips NBA All-Star Weekend for Hometown 3-Point Contest

**INDIANAPOLIS, IN** – WNBA star Caitlin Clark will not be participating in the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend festivities in San Francisco, her representatives confirmed to ESPN. The Iowa native, who recently finished her rookie season with the Indiana Fever, will instead debut her 3-point shooting skills at the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis this July.

Speculation had mounted that Clark, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, might participate in the NBA’s 3-point contest or a similar exhibition event, following in the footsteps of last year’s NBA vs. WNBA 3-point challenge. However, Clark’s team stated that she prefers to make her 3-point contest debut on home turf at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse during the WNBA All-Star Weekend (July 18-19). This decision comes after Clark’s absence from last year’s WNBA 3-point contest, where she instead played in the WNBA vs. Team USA All-Star Game.

The NBA All-Star festivities will take place February 14-16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Clark will, however, be celebrating her basketball career this Sunday, as the University of Iowa retires her jersey during a game against Southern California.
