**New Delhi** – India’s economy is expected to grow between 6.3% and 6.8% in the fiscal year 2025-26, according to the Economic Survey presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday. The annual document, released ahead of the Union Budget, paints a positive, albeit cautious, picture of the nation’s economic prospects.

The survey highlighted that sustained growth of 8% over the next two decades is necessary for India to achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. This ambitious target underscores the government’s commitment to long-term economic expansion.

The presentation of the Economic Survey marked the beginning of the first part of the Budget Session of Parliament, which will run until February 13th before reconvening on March 10th and concluding on April 4th. The session will encompass a total of 27 sittings.

In her address to Parliament, President Droupadi Murmu underscored the government’s focus on inclusive development, emphasizing the importance of adhering to fundamental principles for national success.
