Fri Jan 31 03:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Minnesota Yacht Club Festival Announces Stellar, But Lacking Diversity, 2025 Lineup

**St. Paul, MN** – The second annual Minnesota Yacht Club (MYC) music festival, set for July 18-20 at Harriet Island Regional Park, announced its three-day lineup Tuesday. While boasting a strong roster of headliners and established acts, critics point to a notable lack of diversity in the lineup.

Headliners include Hozier, Green Day, and Fall Out Boy. A major coup for the festival is the return of Alabama Shakes, marking their first major performance since 2017. While the band’s frontwoman, Brittany Howard, is a prominent Black artist, the overall lineup is overwhelmingly white.

Other performers include Twin Cities favorites Cory Wong and Laamar, along with Jake Clemons (Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band) and TikTok star Gigi Perez. However, the festival’s organizers have notably avoided hip-hop and country genres, leading to concerns about representation of musical tastes.

The festival’s promoters, C3 Presents, have largely opted for proven draws in the Twin Cities, including Hozier and Green Day, both of whom performed sold-out shows in the area last year. While this guarantees strong attendance for Days 1 and 3, the decision to book Fall Out Boy, who has played the metro area frequently in recent years, has been met with less enthusiasm.

The undercards feature a diverse range of styles, including Sheryl Crow, Father John Misty, Weezer, and Semisonic. Despite some weaker spots in the lineup, the overall assessment is positive, with the potential to establish the MYC as a major summer music festival in the Twin Cities, comparable to Austin City Limits or Outside Lands.

Tickets, priced between $275 and $2,300, go on sale January 30th. Concerns remain, however, about the need for improved cell phone and Wi-Fi infrastructure at Harriet Island to enhance the festival experience.
