**Chennai:** Kerala Blasters FC secured a resounding 3-1 victory over Chennaiyin FC at the latter’s home ground in Chennai, dealing a significant blow to the home team’s playoff hopes. The win marks the second time this season that Blasters have defeated Chennaiyin by a comfortable margin.
Jesús Giménez opened the scoring for Blasters in the 3rd minute, stunning Chennaiyin early on. The match took a dramatic turn in the 37th minute when Chennaiyin’s Wilmar Jordán received a direct red card for a foul on Danish Farooq, reducing Chennaiyin to ten men.
