Fri Jan 31 02:21:40 IST 2025: ## Kerala Blasters Thrash Chennaiyin FC in Impressive ISL Victory

**Chennai, January 30, 2025:** Kerala Blasters secured a resounding 3-1 victory over Chennaiyin FC in Chennai on Wednesday, marking a significant resurgence in their Indian Super League (ISL) campaign. The win, their seventh in 19 matches, lifts them to eighth place in the league standings with 24 points.

Goals from Jesús Herrero (3rd minute), Korou Singh (45+3rd minute), and Kwame Peprah (56th minute) propelled Kerala Blasters to victory. Herrero capitalized on a Chennaiyin error to score early, establishing an immediate psychological advantage. While Chennaiyin had a chance through a free kick header by Edward, it was saved by Sachin Suresh, Kerala’s goalkeeper. The situation worsened for Chennaiyin when Jordan Gill was sent off in the 37th minute for a foul on Milos Drinčić.

Kerala Blasters doubled their lead in injury time of the first half through a swift counter-attack, culminating in Singh’s expertly placed shot. The second half saw continued pressure from Kerala, with Peprah extending the lead after a precise pass from captain Luna.

Chennaiyin brought on substitutes Vincy Barretto, Elcino, and Daniel Chima Chukwu in an attempt to salvage the situation, but it was too late. Kerala also made substitutions, bringing on Dusan Lagator, Vibin Mohanan, and Noah Sadaoui. A late consolation goal from Barretto reduced the deficit, but the match ended with a well-deserved Kerala victory. A brief altercation between Luna and Sadaoui was quickly resolved by young player Ishan Pandit. The victory provides a significant boost for Kerala Blasters as they navigate the remainder of the ISL season.
