**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Jan 30, 2025** – The Indian Railways has categorically denied rumors circulating about the cancellation of special trains for the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela following the recent stampede. A railway spokesperson confirmed that no special trains have been cancelled and that there are no plans to do so. They further stated that 360 trains are currently operating from Prayagraj station alone.

Following the stampede, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, urging the deployment of as many trains as possible to manage the influx of pilgrims. The Railways responded by announcing that a train is departing from Prayagraj every four minutes. Furthermore, South Central Railway is adding more special trains to further alleviate congestion during the Kumbh Mela. The Railways is committed to ensuring smooth transportation for all pilgrims attending the religious gathering.
