Fri Jan 31 12:40:00 IST 2025: ## Dharani Portal Technical Glitches Cause Delays in Land Transactions in Karimnagar
**Karimnagar, Telangana, January 31, 2025** – Land registration and mutation processes in Karimnagar district are facing significant delays due to persistent technical issues plaguing the Dharani portal, the online land records management system. Over 1,125 applications are currently pending.
According to reports, the portal is experiencing various technical problems, including issues with digital signatures, inaccurate survey numbers, and missing or incorrect account and survey numbers. These glitches are causing delays in registrations, mutations, and other land transactions, with even slot bookings facing delays. The server frequently malfunctions, citing these errors as reasons for rejection.
Farmers are complaining that applications submitted through MeeSeva, the state’s online service delivery platform, are not being processed efficiently, and revenue officials are rejecting applications citing insufficient supporting documents. Even after paying fees, applications remain stalled. Many are forced to repeatedly visit Tahsildar, RDO, and Collector offices for updates, with little success.
The problems encompass a range of issues, including discrepancies in land ownership details, photo errors, and inaccurate land area measurements. The situation is particularly concerning given the current high demand for agricultural land in the district. Farmers are worried about delays affecting their ability to secure loans, Rythu Bandhu benefits, and other crucial financial assistance.
The Dharani portal, launched in October 2020, was intended to streamline land transactions. While mechanisms like the GLM and Team-33 modules were introduced to allow farmers to directly appeal to the Collector, the system’s inefficiencies are causing significant hardship. The government’s stipulated four-day processing time for applications is consistently unmet.
In response to the widespread problems, the current Congress government is reportedly considering replacing Dharani with a new portal called “Bhoomi Maatha.” While details are yet to be finalized, Tahsildars are already informing affected farmers about the potential shift, offering a glimmer of hope for quicker resolution of their land issues. However, the lack of progress and the resulting financial hardships faced by farmers highlight the urgency of addressing the ongoing Dharani portal crisis.
