**Kannur, Kerala –** A Class 10 student from Kannur, K.V. Mesna, has achieved a remarkable feat: her poem, “Kalam Thettiya Mazha,” has been included in the CBSE Class 7 Malayalam textbook, “Madumozhi.” The poem, written when Mesna was in sixth grade, was selected by the Malabar Education Research Centre (MERC) for inclusion in the textbook, officially released recently by Speaker A.N. Shamseer.
Mesna, a student at Tagore Vidyaniketan Government Higher Secondary School, expressed her surprise and delight at the recognition. She began writing poems and stories at the age of six and has already garnered significant accolades, including the prestigious Ujjwala Balyam award in 2020 and the Inspire award from the Department of Science and Technology in 2021 and 2024. She also received the Muallanezhi Kavya Prathiba award in 2021.
The inclusion of her work in a national-level textbook marks a significant milestone for the young poet, highlighting her exceptional talent and potential. Mesna’s story serves as an inspiration to aspiring young writers across the country.
