Thu Jan 30 22:22:59 IST 2025: ## Tiruppur Textile Worker Sentenced to 20 Years in POCSO Case

**TIRUPPUR, January 30, 2025** – A 30-year-old employee of a private textile unit in Tiruppur has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Mahila Court for violating the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Mohan Vignesh of Boyampalayam was found guilty of marrying a 15-year-old co-worker in 2022, following a complaint filed by her parents with the Perumanallur Police.

The court also imposed a ₹5,000 fine on Vignesh. The charges included sexually assaulting a minor, abducting a minor with the intention of marriage, and violating the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. The girl was rescued following the registration of the case. The verdict was delivered on Thursday.
