**Udupi, Karnataka, January 30, 2025** – The SDM College of Ayurveda Hospital and Research Centre in Udupi is set to open a new, 90,000 square foot building on January 31st. The facility boasts state-of-the-art features designed to enhance the learning experience for students and faculty.

The new building includes an administrative block, principal’s chamber, boardroom, academic block, and a cutting-edge skill laboratory equipped with advanced mannequins and simulators for practicing clinical skills. Seven smart classrooms utilize modern technology for interactive learning, while 14 well-equipped departments each feature departmental libraries, expanded museum spaces, and dedicated laboratories. Postgraduate students will have access to dedicated lecture halls across 13 departments.

A significant addition is a manuscript library housing a rich collection of historical Ayurvedic texts, and a newly upgraded museum showcasing an extensive collection of specimens. The building also houses an expansive library with over 21,000 books and a digital repository of e-books and journals.

The inauguration ceremony will be presided over by the Seer of Mantralaya Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Subudhendra Teertha. Other dignitaries attending include the Seer of Udupi Pejawar Mutt, Vishwaprasanna Tirtha; D. Veerendra Heggade, president of the SDME Society; and Sreenivasa Prasad Buduru, president of the Board of Ayurveda, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, Ministry of AYUSH, Delhi. The new facility represents a significant investment in Ayurvedic education and research in the region.
