Thu Jan 30 13:48:35 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Launches Centers of Excellence for Higher Education
**Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala –** Kerala’s Higher Education Minister, R. Bindu, inaugurated two new Centers of Excellence on Thursday, January 30, 2025. These centers, established under the Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC), aim to significantly improve the quality of higher education in the state.
The first, the Centre of Excellence for Teaching Learning and Training (TLT), will focus on enhancing teaching skills, curriculum redesign, and fostering innovative teaching methodologies. It will also promote research in teaching and learning and facilitate collaborations with national and international institutions.
The second, the Kerala Network for Research Support in Higher Education (KNRSHE), will provide state-of-the-art research infrastructure across the state through a network of shared facilities. This will allow faculty, researchers, scientists, and students access to advanced equipment and resources. A sub-center of KNRSHE was also established at Government College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram, through a Memorandum of Understanding signed between KSHEC and the college.
The event, attended by KSHEC officials and the Principal of Government College for Women, marks a significant investment in upgrading Kerala’s higher education system and fostering research excellence.
