Thu Jan 30 04:17:03 IST 2025: ## Major League Table Tennis Lands National TV Deal with CBS Sports

**NEW YORK** – Major League Table Tennis (MLTT), a burgeoning professional league founded in 2023, has secured its first national television deal with CBS Sports, marking a significant milestone for the sport in the United States. The agreement, terms of which were not disclosed, will bring MLTT matches, highlights, player profiles, and behind-the-scenes content to CBS Sports Network starting Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.

MLTT, boasting eight teams across the US, has experienced explosive growth, seeing a 1,200% increase in YouTube viewership from its inaugural season. This rapid expansion aligns with a broader resurgence in table tennis popularity, fueled in part by the Paris Olympics and increased visibility on digital platforms. The league, which has raised approximately $10 million in capital from investors including David Blitzer and Daryl Morey, aims to leverage this momentum to further expand its reach.

“This partnership with CBS Sports is a defining moment for MLTT,” said Flint Lane, founder and commissioner. “It’s a testament to the league’s energy and growing appeal.” Lane, a software entrepreneur, noted the current lack of a professional table tennis league in the US, highlighting MLTT’s role in establishing credibility for the sport.

The league’s growth has been bolstered by increased interest in table tennis betting, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when other sports were suspended. While MLTT itself isn’t yet approved for sports betting, the fast-paced nature of the game has made it a popular option in some states.

Looking ahead, MLTT plans to add two expansion teams and invest in grassroots development to further solidify the sport’s position in the American sporting landscape. The league’s success is further underscored by the involvement of prominent figures like former NBA star Manu Ginóbili, a minority owner in the Florida Crocs.
