**Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh –** A new AI-powered chatbot, “Mahakumbh AI Sahayata,” provided crucial assistance to pilgrims attending this year’s Mahakumbh festival in Uttar Pradesh. Developed by ONDC and CoRover, the chatbot, running on the BharatGPT model, offered multilingual support and handled a massive volume of queries.

The chatbot, accessible via WhatsApp (+91 7968 363636) or phone call, provided information on directions, schedules, accommodations, and emergency services in over 14 languages. Its capabilities include document uploading, translation, and text-to-speech conversion. While unable to provide information on a fatal stampede that occurred during the festival, it offered assistance to those needing to evacuate.

CoRover CEO Ankush Sabharwal highlighted the chatbot’s ability to handle over 100 languages and process up to 100,000 concurrent queries, emphasizing its accessibility and impact in ensuring no pilgrim was left without assistance. The initiative showcases the potential of AI in providing real-time support during large-scale events.
