**Amaravati, January 30, 2025** – Harish Kumar Gupta, a 1992-batch IPS officer currently serving as Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement, has been appointed as the acting Director-General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh. This interim appointment follows the impending retirement of Ch. D. Tirumala Rao on January 31st. Chief Secretary K Vijayanand issued orders confirming the appointment until a permanent replacement is named. Gupta will assume the role in addition to his current responsibilities.
