**MEXICO CITY** – Popular Mexican influencer Ricardo “Fofo” Márquez, known for flaunting his lavish lifestyle online, was found guilty of attempted femicide on January 24, 2025, facing a potential prison sentence exceeding 40 years. The conviction stems from a violent attack on Edith “N” on February 22, 2024, in a Naucalpan shopping center parking lot.

The brutal assault was captured on video, which quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage and national debate. His past boasts about his security guards’ actions, including statements suggesting violence and coercion, resurfaced during the trial.
