**Mysuru, January 30, 2025** – Professor N.S. Rangaraju, convenor of INTACH Mysuru and member of the District Heritage and Conservation Committee, has warned of the deteriorating condition of several heritage structures in Mysuru due to a lack of maintenance and restoration. He highlighted that prolonged neglect leads to structural damage, shortening the lifespan of these important buildings.
While citing successful conservation efforts at locations such as Dr. Radhakrishnan’s Bungalow and the Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion (currently undergoing scientific restoration), Prof. Rangaraju expressed concern over the state of several others. He specifically mentioned Vasanth Mahal, Lalitha Mahal, the CFTRI building, Maharaja’s College hostel, and Yuvaraja’s College as requiring immediate attention.
Prof. Rangaraju emphasized the critical need for timely conservation measures and adherence to scientific restoration norms to preserve Mysuru’s rich architectural heritage for future generations.
