HYDERABAD, January 30, 2025 – The BJP in Telangana is demanding an apology from the Congress government for failing to deliver on election promises. BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman accused the Congress of making “fresh excuses,” citing poor financial conditions as the reason for delays in implementing welfare schemes. He questioned whether the government was unaware of the state’s finances when making the promises, pointing to the over one-year delay in fulfilling commitments made within a 100-day timeframe.
Laxman, also the national OBC president, criticized the Congress for lacking a proper plan and vision, highlighting issues such as unpaid retirement benefits for employees and delayed fee reimbursements for students.
In a separate press conference, BJP Legislature party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy urged the government to ensure all eligible citizens benefit from social welfare schemes, not just a select few. He demanded clarity on the beneficiary selection process for initiatives like new ration cards and housing schemes, criticizing the allocation of only a fraction of promised houses despite thousands of applications. The BJP vowed to continue questioning the government’s actions.
