**Chennai, January 30, 2025** – A special grievance redressal meeting at the Chennai district collector’s office on Wednesday resulted in the distribution of assistive devices to persons with disabilities (PwDs). Collector Rashmi Siddharth Zagade oversaw the distribution, which included seven motorized scooters equipped with support wheels (total value ₹7.19 lakh), five hearing aids (₹16,425), and one prosthetic limb (₹4,700).
The event, which saw 221 petitions submitted by the public, highlighted the Collector’s commitment to assisting eligible beneficiaries. Officials were instructed to take immediate action on all received petitions. The meeting was attended by key personnel including the personal assistant (general), and the district differently abled welfare officers from South and North Chennai.
