**Mumbai, January 30, 2025** – Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna defence public sector undertaking (PSU), announced a significant jump in its revenue and profits for the third quarter of fiscal year 2024-25 (Q3 FY24). Standalone revenue from operations surged 39.14% year-on-year to ₹5,756.12 crore, compared to ₹4,136.69 crore in the same period last year. This strong performance drove a 57.5% increase in EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) to ₹1,653.3 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 28.7%.
The company also reported a substantial increase in profit before tax (PBT), rising to ₹4,242.37 crore from ₹2,948.95 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Profit after tax (PAT) similarly increased to ₹3,183.47 crore, up from ₹2,236.48 crore. For the nine months ended December 31, 2024, BEL’s turnover reached ₹14,173.68 crore.
Following the release of these positive earnings, BEL shares experienced a significant rise on the National Stock Exchange, climbing 3.52% to ₹276.60 apiece by 2:43 pm. Intraday, the stock reached a high of 4.41% gain. As of January 1, 2025, BEL’s order book stood at a robust ₹7,1100 crore. The company’s strong financial results reflect a positive outlook for the defence sector.
