Thu Jan 30 10:51:56 UTC 2025: ## Kejriwal Challenges Election Commission Chief to Contest Delhi Election
**New Delhi:** Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal has issued a strong challenge to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Rajiv Kumar, accusing him of “ruining” the Election Commission and engaging in political maneuvering. Kejriwal dared Kumar to contest an election from a Delhi constituency, asserting that the Commission is biased and acting to secure post-retirement employment for Kumar.
Kejriwal’s challenge comes after the Election Commission issued a notice to him for his allegations against the Haryana government regarding ammonia contamination in the Yamuna River. He equated the alleged contamination to a “genocide” and compared it to an act of war between two nations. The Commission has given Kejriwal another opportunity to explain why action shouldn’t be taken against him for these comments, citing the potential for inciting animosity and public unrest.
In a press conference, Kejriwal went further, claiming the Election Commission is ignoring the open distribution of money in Delhi. He even offered to send the Election Commissioners three bottles of water allegedly containing ammonia-contaminated water, challenging them to drink it to prove his claims regarding the Yamuna’s pollution. Kejriwal predicted his arrest within two days for his outspoken criticism.
