**New Delhi:** India observed the 77th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi today, with a special homage ceremony held at Rajghat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying respects to the Father of the Nation, joining the three chiefs of the armed forces and several senior ministers in offering floral tributes.
The ceremony commemorated the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30, 1948, by Nathuram Godse. The day is also observed as National Martyrs’ Day, a solemn remembrance of Gandhi’s sacrifice and his enduring legacy for India. Across the country, citizens recalled the life and teachings of the revered leader.
