**New Orleans, LA** – Hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar will headline the Super Bowl LIX halftime show on February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, it was announced today. Lamar, a Pulitzer Prize winner, declared that he intends to showcase the enduring impact of rap music on a global stage. This will mark his second Super Bowl halftime appearance, following his acclaimed co-headlining performance in 2022.
The Apple Music sponsored show will also feature a star-studded lineup for the national anthem and other pre-game performances. Jon Batiste, a Grammy and Academy Award winner, will sing the “Star-Spangled Banner,” while Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle will collaborate on “America the Beautiful.” Grammy winner Ledisi will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” the Black national anthem. American Sign Language interpretations will accompany all performances.
Adding to the excitement, Lamar’s performance will include a special guest appearance by singer SZA.
