Tue Jan 28 16:50:00 UTC 2025: ## India’s Batting Coach Backs Suryakumar Yadav Despite Slow Start Against England

**Rajkot, India** – Team India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has voiced his unwavering support for Suryakumar Yadav despite the batsman’s underwhelming performance in the ongoing T20I series against England. Yadav, who has managed scores of just 0 and 12 in the first two matches, is facing pressure to deliver a substantial contribution in the third match in Rajkot.

However, Kotak emphasized that India’s aggressive batting approach, while yielding impressive team results, doesn’t guarantee high scores every game. “Surya, I think he is performing, but sometimes I feel we also expect a lot,” Kotak stated in a pre-match press conference. “The game has become so aggressive… there will be a time when they get out because they are playing fearless cricket.”

Kotak highlighted Yadav’s selfless batting style, crucial for India’s target of consistently scoring 200-225 runs. “If you want to score 200-225, you cannot play cricket where you are trying to save your wickets,” he explained. “He plays a brand of cricket for the team which is very, very selfless.”

While acknowledging Yadav’s recent dip in form – averaging 24.50 with four half-centuries in 19 innings since the start of 2024 – Kotak expressed confidence in his ability to adapt to opposition strategies. “I think that he has been batting with the same flow,” Kotak said. “But plan-wise, opposition sides will bowl in areas (to target him), but he is very smart and will read that, and practice accordingly.” Kotak concluded by predicting a strong performance from Yadav in the upcoming match.
