**Bengaluru, January 29, 2025** – Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah commended the Revenue Department’s progress in digitization and service delivery, specifically praising the reduction in pending cases. However, he urged the department to further accelerate its efforts and prioritize citizen-friendly services.
At a meeting reviewing the department’s progress, Mr. Siddaramaiah emphasized the need for “quality” over “quantity” in case disposal, aiming to reduce protracted litigation. He expressed satisfaction with the significant drop in long-pending cases but stressed the need for continuous improvement to ensure seamless and accessible services.
The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite land mutation and conversion applications, highlighting the success of the automated system, which completes khata issuance within a day in approximately 65% of cases. He set a target of one month for land conversion processes, noting recent legislative amendments eliminating the need for conversion in master plan areas. He also instructed the department to regularly update master plans.
Mr. Siddaramaiah lauded the use of drone surveys for property mapping under the ‘Bhoosuraksha’ project, which has digitized eight crore original land documents across 31 districts and enabled property card issuance in 21 districts. He called for expanding drone surveys to cover the entire state.
