Tue Jan 28 21:50:16 IST 2025: ## Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Launches Diamond Jubilee Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides
**Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu –** Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin inaugurated the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and the Kalaignar Centenary jamboree in Tiruchi on Tuesday. The seven-day event, held at the SIPCOT complex near Manapparai, attracted over 20,000 scouts and guides from across India and other countries.
Mr. Stalin lauded the organization’s role in shaping responsible citizens, emphasizing its contribution to instilling confidence, self-discipline, and perseverance in young people. He highlighted the jamboree’s theme of empowering youth for a developed India, stating that it would hone participants’ skills and foster leadership qualities. The state government allocated ₹39 crore for the event.
The jamboree features cultural events and aims to provide participants with opportunities for personal development, community service, and exploring India’s diverse traditions. Mr. Stalin also acknowledged the vision of Robert Baden Powell, founder of the Scouts and Guides movement.
Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, D.K. Shivakumar, also attended, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between states to build a strong nation. Several other state ministers and delegates participated in the event, which included a parade showcasing participants from various states.
