**Thiruvananthapuram, January 29, 2025** – The Kerala Cabinet has approved a significant increase in salaries for government pleaders at the High Court, effective retrospectively from January 1, 2022. The new salary structure includes ₹1,50,000 for government special pleaders, ₹1,40,000 for senior government pleaders, and ₹1,25,000 for government pleaders. In addition to the salary hikes, arrears will be paid to compensate for the period since January 1, 2022.

The revision also extends to the fees and allowances of top legal officials. The Advocate General, Additional Advocates General, Director General of Prosecution, Additional Director General of Prosecution, and the State Attorney will receive a revised retainer fee of ₹2,50,000, an allowance of ₹50,000, and appearance fees of ₹60,000 for Supreme Court appearances, ₹15,000 for High Court Division Bench appearances, and ₹7,500 for High Court Single Bench appearances. This comprehensive salary revision is expected to significantly impact the state’s legal system.
