Wed Jan 29 15:34:21 IST 2025: ## Modi Slams Kejriwal, Promises Delhi a “Double-Engine” Government Ahead of Polls

**New Delhi, January 29, 2025** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday, accusing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of spreading lies and resorting to desperate measures ahead of the February 5th Assembly elections. Addressing a large rally in Kartar Nagar, Modi likened AAP leaders to serial killer Charles Sobhraj, highlighting their alleged duplicity.

Modi directly addressed Kejriwal’s recent claim that the BJP is poisoning Delhi’s water supply, calling it a “sin” and a malicious allegation. He pointed out that Delhi, including embassies and judges’ residences, receives water from Haryana, implying the accusation is absurd. He further criticized the AAP for its contradictory stances on cleaning the Yamuna River, suggesting they only raise the issue when it serves their political interests.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need for a “double-engine” government – a BJP government at both the state and national level – to address Delhi’s long-standing issues like inadequate infrastructure, pollution, and water shortages. He promised to fulfill BJP’s election promises in a timely manner, guaranteeing a better future for Delhi’s citizens.

Modi highlighted the large turnout at his rally, even on a working day, as a strong indicator of public sentiment and the desire for change. He contrasted the BJP’s promises with the AAP’s alleged failures over the past 11 years and the Congress’s 14 years before that, stating that both parties have failed to resolve Delhi’s persistent problems.

The Election Commission has reportedly requested evidence from Kejriwal to support his allegations of water poisoning. Kejriwal previously made these claims on X (formerly Twitter), alleging that the BJP was engaging in dirty politics to keep Delhi thirsty.
