**NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2025** – Nasdaq, Inc. announced today a modest increase in short interest across its markets as of the January 15, 2025 settlement date. Total short interest across all 4,734 Nasdaq securities reached 14,827,308,443 shares, representing 1.82 days of average daily volume. This is a slight uptick from the 14,468,312,416 shares (1.78 days of average daily volume) reported at the end of December 2024.
The increase was observed across both the Nasdaq Global Market and the Nasdaq Capital Market. On the Global Market, short interest totaled 12,402,417,655 shares, a marginal increase from the previous reporting period. The Capital Market saw short interest reach 2,424,890,788 shares, also reflecting a small increase.
