Wed Jan 29 18:50:28 IST 2025: ## Local Man Arrested for Stalking and Sexual Harassment
**Coimbatore, January 29, 2025** – A 32-year-old man, Mohamed Sherif, was arrested on Tuesday by Kuniyamuthur police for allegedly stalking and sexually harassing a 20-year-old woman. The incident occurred on December 13, 2024, after a minor traffic accident on Palakkad Road near Kuniyamuthur.
Following a seemingly accidental collision between their two-wheelers, Sherif apologized to the woman and left the scene. However, he later followed her to the Sungam-Ukkadam bypass, where he introduced himself, obtained her name, and forcibly kissed her.
The woman filed a complaint with the police on Tuesday, leading to Sherif’s arrest. He has been charged under Sections 126(2), 75(1)(i), and 78(1)(i) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (for wrongful restraint, sexual harassment, and stalking, respectively) and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act. He was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
