**PALAKKAD, Kerala, January 29, 2025** – Chenthamara, arrested Tuesday night for the double murder of Sudhakaran and his mother Lakshmi in Nenmara, Palakkad, meticulously planned the killings, according to Palakkad District Police Chief Ajit Kumar. Sudhakaran died at the scene on Monday morning, while Lakshmi succumbed to her injuries later.
Chenthamara, previously accused in the 2019 murder of Sudhakaran’s wife, Sajitha, and recently released on bail, allegedly purchased the murder weapons and even crafted the machete handle himself. He initially evaded capture by hiding in the nearby hills, but his eventual need for supplies led to his arrest.
Police Chief Kumar stated that Chenthamara confessed to the murders, driven by long-standing enmity towards Sudhakaran’s family. While police are verifying details of the confession, Chenthamara is scheduled to appear before a Magistrate’s court Wednesday afternoon. The police will then seek custody for further investigation and crime scene reconstruction.
