**Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh –** The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched its 100th mission, marking a significant milestone in India’s space exploration journey. The mission, launched at 6:23 AM today, deployed the NVS-02 navigation satellite aboard the GSLV-F15 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
This launch represents the 17th flight of India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) and places the NVS-02 satellite into geostationary orbit at 36,000 km. The satellite, the fifth in the NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) series, will significantly enhance India’s navigation capabilities.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Jitendra Singh, congratulated ISRO on this historic achievement, highlighting the 100th launch from Sriharikota. He further stated that ISRO aims to spearhead global space research by 2047, aligning with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. The successful launch underscores India’s growing prowess in space technology and its commitment to expanding its navigational infrastructure.
