Wed Jan 29 00:09:11 IST 2025: ## ISRO’s 100th Launch from Sriharikota: NVS-02 Navigation Satellite Lifts Off
**Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, January 29, 2025** – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its 100th mission from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota early this morning. The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV)-F15, carrying the navigation satellite NVS-02, lifted off at 6:23 a.m. as planned.
The launch marks a significant milestone for ISRO, culminating a journey that began with the partially successful experimental flight of the Satellite Launch Vehicle-3 (SLV-3 E10) on August 10, 1979. The 27-hour countdown for the GSLV-F15 mission commenced on Tuesday.
NVS-02 is set to provide crucial services including terrestrial, aerial, and maritime navigation; support precision agriculture and fleet management; enhance location-based services in mobile devices; and facilitate orbit determination for other satellites. Its applications also extend to Internet-of-Things (IoT) based applications, emergency and timing services.
This 17th flight of a GSLV with an indigenous Cryogenic upper stage represents a major advancement in India’s space capabilities. The successful launch underscores ISRO’s continued commitment to expanding its space program and technological prowess.
