Tue Jan 28 18:39:11 UTC 2025: ## ISRO Achieves Historic Milestone: 100th Launch a Success

**Sriharikota, India (January 29, 2025)** – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its 100th mission early this morning, marking a significant milestone in India’s space program. The GSLV-F15 rocket, carrying the NVS-02 navigation satellite, lifted off at 6:23 a.m. from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan confirmed the successful deployment of NVS-02 into its intended orbit. NVS-02, the second in the NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) series, will enhance India’s regional navigation system, providing accurate positioning and timing services across the Indian subcontinent and beyond. The satellite boasts advanced features, including a combination of indigenous and procured atomic clocks for precise timekeeping.

The GSLV-F15, the 17th flight of its kind and the 8th operational flight with an indigenous cryogenic stage, demonstrated India’s growing capabilities in space technology. The mission also marked a personal milestone for Dr. Narayanan, who assumed his role as ISRO Chairman earlier this month.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh congratulated ISRO on this historic achievement, praising the team for making India proud. Dr. Narayanan himself highlighted the journey from ISRO’s first partially successful launch in 1979 to this momentous 100th mission, crediting the vision of pioneers like Vikram Sarabhai and Satish Dhawan.

The 100th launch involved a 27-hour countdown and a flawless execution, showcasing ISRO’s expertise and commitment to advancing India’s space capabilities. The successful mission further cements India’s position as a leading player in the global space arena.
