MUMBAI, INDIA – Varun Chakaravarthy’s stellar performance has propelled him 25 places to number five in the ICC T20I bowling rankings. The Indian mystery spinner’s climb follows a five-wicket haul in a recent match against England. Meanwhile, England’s Adil Rashid has regained the top spot in the rankings after an economical spell in the same match. The resurgence of Rashid, who previously held the top spot in late 2023, follows a strong showing against India in Rajkot.

Other notable improvements in the top 10 T20I bowling rankings include Jofra Archer (England), who jumped 13 places to sixth, and Arshdeep Singh (India), who now sits ninth. Ravi Bishnoi dropped five places to tenth, while Axar Patel moved to eleventh.

On the batting side, Tilak Varma of India rose to number two in the T20I batting rankings, posing a challenge to Australia’s Travis Head. Varma’s consistent performance against England has put him within striking distance of the top spot. If he maintains his current form, he could become the youngest ever number one ranked T20I batsman, surpassing Babar Azam’s record.

Jasprit Bumrah continues his dominance in the Test bowling rankings, holding the top position. Other ranking movements include Will Jacks (England) moving up to 24th in the Test all-rounder rankings, and Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan) moving up two spots to 15th in the Test batsman rankings.
