Wed Jan 29 03:00:00 UTC 2025: **Hyderabad Metro Services Disrupted by Technical Glitch**
HYDERABAD, INDIA (January 29, 2025) – Hyderabad’s metro rail system experienced significant disruptions this morning due to a technical fault. Services on multiple lines, including the Blue Line between Nagol and Secunderabad, and routes connecting Ameerpet to Hi-Tech City and Miyapur, were halted for nearly two hours starting around 6:30 AM.
The issue, reportedly a signaling problem, caused widespread delays and inconvenience for commuters, many of whom were heading to work. L&T officials were dispatched to the affected areas to rectify the technical problems. While services have partially resumed, significant delays continue, particularly on the Blue Line.
Metro officials stated that the signaling issue is expected to be resolved shortly, and full service restoration is anticipated. However, the prolonged disruption during peak hours led to overcrowding at several stations as passengers waited for trains. The incident highlights concerns about the frequency of service disruptions on the Hyderabad Metro, with similar, albeit shorter, interruptions occurring every three months.
