Wed Jan 29 02:11:20 IST 2025: ## Haryana CM Rebuts Kejriwal’s ‘Poisonous Water’ Claim Ahead of Delhi Polls
**Chandigarh, January 29, 2025** – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday dismissed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal’s allegations of Haryana supplying Delhi with polluted water as a “political stunt.” Saini asserted that Haryana diligently provides Delhi with 1049 cusecs of water through the Carrier Line Channel and Delhi Branch, refuting claims of water contamination.
Saini cited a 2021 Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) report which identified illegal discharge of polluted water between Palla and Wazirabad in Delhi, and sediment build-up in the Wazirabad pond as the primary sources of water pollution, not Haryana’s supply. He criticized the Delhi government for failing to act on the CPCB report, stating that neither the illegal discharge nor the pond’s cleaning has been addressed. He emphasized that Haryana has consistently supplied clean water via canals since 2014, ceasing the use of drains or direct Yamuna River supply. This statement comes amidst the ongoing heated campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
