Wed Jan 29 07:20:56 UTC 2025: ## “Viva La Kalesh”: Brawl Erupts During Coldplay Concert in Ahmedabad

**Ahmedabad, India –** A fight broke out amongst concertgoers during Coldplay’s performance of “Viva la Vida” at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India on January 25th or 26th, overshadowing what was otherwise a record-breaking show. A viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) shows a chaotic scene of pushing, shoving, slapping, and even biting, as several individuals engaged in a brawl near the stage. The incident occurred during the bridge of the popular song, with attendees attempting to intervene but failing to immediately stop the altercation.

The video quickly gained traction online, with users dubbing the event “Viva La Kalesh” (Viva La Fight), a humorous yet pointed commentary on the unexpected turn of events during the globally renowned band’s performance. While many found the situation amusing, others condemned the violence, particularly the aggressive behavior directed towards women involved.

Despite the incident, Coldplay’s *Music of the Spheres World Tour* leg in India was a resounding success. The January 26th concert in Ahmedabad, coinciding with Republic Day, drew an unprecedented 134,000 attendees, setting a new record for the largest ticketed concert in India’s history, surpassing previous records held by Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber. The Ahmedabad stadium’s capacity of over 130,000 also broke Coldplay’s previous attendance record of 83,000 set at a Sydney concert.

Following three shows in Navi Mumbai, the Ahmedabad concerts marked Coldplay’s final stop in India. The band is scheduled to continue its tour in Hong Kong and Seoul in April.
