**Palghar, January 29, 2025** – Police in Palghar have launched a major investigation into the disappearance of Ashok Dhodi, a local functionary of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. Dhodi, the party’s Dahanu Assembly constituency coordinator, vanished on January 20th.

Eight teams, including members of the local crime branch, are working to locate him. Four suspects have been detained, and charges have been filed against three under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for kidnapping, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, and common intention. Police are using intelligence, technical data from mobile tracking, and information gathered from the detained suspects to progress the investigation.

However, the investigation has faced a setback with one suspect escaping police custody. Initial investigations suggest the disappearance may be linked to a family property dispute. Dhodi was last seen traveling between Gholwad and Dahanu on January 20th. The police are confident of solving the case.
