Wed Jan 29 03:08:29 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Youth Protest Over Delayed Teacher Recruitment
**Vijayawada, January 29, 2025** – Hundreds of unemployed youth in Andhra Pradesh protested on Tuesday, demanding the immediate release of a notification for a promised “Mega DSC” (District Selection Committee) recruitment drive. Leaders of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) organized the demonstration in Avanigadda, Krishna district.
DYFI state secretary G. Ramanna accused the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) coalition government of breaking its election promise to release the notification shortly after taking office seven months ago. He highlighted the seven-year gap since the last DSC notification, leaving approximately 10 lakh unemployed youth waiting for the recruitment of 16,000 teaching positions in government schools. Mr. Ramanna warned of further protests if the government fails to act swiftly. The protest included DYFI office-bearers and aspiring teachers. The DYFI also criticized the police response to their demonstration.
