**Mumbai, India** – Jasprit Bumrah and Smriti Mandhana have brought double joy to India, winning prestigious International Cricket Council (ICC) awards for 2024. Bumrah was named the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year, while Mandhana secured her second ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year title.

Bumrah’s award comes after a phenomenal year in Test cricket, where he claimed an impressive 71 wickets at an average of 14.92. His haul of 19 more wickets than his nearest rival solidified his position as the world’s number one Test bowler. He delivered standout performances against South Africa, England, Bangladesh, and Australia, earning Player of the Series honors in the latter. He beat out fellow nominees Harry Brook and Joe Root (England) and Kamindu Mendis (Sri Lanka) to claim the award, becoming the first Indian to win since Virat Kohli in 2018.

“This award is not just a reflection of my individual efforts but also of the unwavering support of my teammates,” Bumrah stated.

Mandhana also enjoyed a remarkable year, accumulating 747 runs at an average of 57.46 in One-Day Internationals. Her stellar performances, including centuries against New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa, saw her outpace all other players in runs and centuries scored. She defeated Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa), Annabel Sutherland (Australia), and Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka) to win the award for the second time, having previously won in 2018.

“It will motivate me even more to strive for excellence,” Mandhana said of her win. She dedicated the award to her teammates, coaches, and family. The awards mark a triumphant year for Indian cricket.
